ASSOCIATION OF COMPUTER ENGINEERING STUDENTS (ACES)

The mission of the Department consists of three interrelated components: providing the highest quality instruction to our undergraduate and graduate students, conducting leading-edge research in computer science and engineering, and providing leadership and service to our professional communities’ .We are committed to excel in all three components of this mission With nearly 200 members, the ACES

 

(Association of Computer Engineering Students) of Sahrdaya College of Engineering and Technology, the most intense association of Computer professionals, inaugurated in 2004, is the most dedicated association in boosting the technical expertise, the dexterity and the improvement of its member’s proficiency. Our vision is to be the leading association in providing services regarding technical information and services to its members. The Association conducts inter group & intra group seminars applications-related and research-oriented talks, seminars, symposiums, industry institution interaction programs, various technical events, cultural programmes etc. 


ACTIVITIES

2020-21

  • conducted a KTU Sponsored Five-Day Online Faculty Development Programme on “CYBER SECURITY AND CYBER FORENSICS” during 06th – 10th September 2021.

Conducted the session, “Online Interaction for Interview Preparation”  for final year 2018-22 batch on 26.09.2021 @ 04:00 pm in connection with Sahrdaya Placement Cell.

This session is aimed to provide interaction with the placed alumni of 2017-21 Batch and to get  an  idea of various processes and preparation needed in the interview.

Online webinar session, “DATA SCIENCE AND MACHINE LEARNING”  for the final year CSE 2018-22 batch on 19.01.2022, timing 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Online webinar session, “Project Development using Machine Learning”  for the Third year CSE 2019-23 batch on 27.01.2022, timing 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. 

2019-20

Ms. Anly Antony and Mr. Willson Joseph shared their knowlege on the topic “Information and Network Security Challenges”  to the department colleagues on 9/7/19 & 10/7/19 based on their FDP which was conducted by SCMS School of Engineering and Technology

Conducted a  Technical Quiz competition for CSE students on 5th September 2019 in association with ACES and CSI.

 

2018-19

Android app development competition was conducted by IEEE computer society in association with ACES on 24th February,2019 for 1st year and 2nd year CSE students. Joyal Thomas of S4 CSB bagged the first prize.

ACES association won overall sports championship for the year 2018-19

ACES in association with Active Edu Technologies Pvt. Limited, Bangalore conducted Microsoft Python Certification training and examination for CSE students from 14/02/2019 to 17/02/2019. Total 51 students attended the training out of which 35 students were certified by Microsoft.

Alumni Interaction was conducted on 16/02/2019 for S4 CSE students. Mr. Stephin T Moyalan of 2015 passed out student, currently working as Systems Engineer in TCS , Infopark Kochi was interacted with the students on the topic “Technology Trends in Industry”.

Google Machine learning on fast track was conducted on 22nd and 23rd of febuary 2019 by IEEE in association with ACES. This hands-on session was conducted by Ali Mustafa (Point of contact Google). 75 students participated in this session and 3 of them got selected to visit the google office.

ACES in association with CSI conducted a preliminary examination for Data Science & AI club on 08/02/2019 during study group activity time for 1st year CSE students.

Real world workshop was conducted on 8th and 9th of February 2019 by IEEE in association with ACES. A total of 45 students from 1st year and 2nd year participated in this workshop.

Two days workshop on machine learning by google was conducted by Mr Ali Musthafa Shaikh

 

Ebin Joseph, Ebin Sebastian, Arun A S of S6 CSA and Don C John of S4 CSA have participated in IBS Travel Hackathon on project titled “Illusion” and won 1st prize worth Rs. 60,000 and received a certificate conducted at Mar Baselios College of Engineering , Thiruvananthapuram on 27,28 January 2018.

 

50 students of S4 and S6 participated in a workshop “Mobile making and Virtual reality”, organized by NIT, Mumbai on 16/03/2018 and 17/03/2018 at SCET, Kodakara which was coordinated by Dr. M Rajeswari and  Ms. Livya George (CSE)

Invited talk on “Latest technologies ” for S5 and S7 CSE students by Dr. Mendus Jacob, Mr. Shirish V Pandey and Jaimon Kuriakose on 12/10/2018

ICT Academy Thiruvananthapuram conducted a seminar on Internet of Things on 17/02/2018 for S5 CS students.

S5 CSE students has arranged an event LIMBO in the Tech Fest conducted by SCET, Kodakara on 23-25/02/2018

S7 CSE students has arranged an event OUTLAST in the Tech Fest conducted by SCET, Kodakara on 23-25/02/2018

2017-18

Software club was inaugurated by Mr. G . Krishnakumar SEDM Sapeian Technologies on 2nd September 2011

On 28th Feb 2017: Conducted a web development hands on session by AnikRaj,Student,S8CSA for CS department students
