VISION

  • To evolve as a Center of Excellence in Electronics and Communication Engineering that moulds technically sound, socially responsible technocrats.

transforms students into technically competent professionals with innovative
skills.

2.     To equip the students to meet the growing challenges of the society through
constant interaction with research organizations and industry.

3.    Inculcate professional values, entrepreneurial skills and social commitment
and responsibilities with a passion for holistic excellence.

ELECSTA organizes various events in the department from time-to-time, which includes guest lectures, design competitions, industrial visits, technical talks, seminars and conferences. ELECSTA, by its active functioning have been successful in enhancing the curricular performance of the students and is helping students and the members of the faculty to get updated with the recent trends in the industry.

Activities organized ELECSTA

  • KTU Sponsored 5 Day FDP on Project Based Learning-Basics to Implementation was conducted on 16/01/2023-20/01/2023
  • KTU Sponsored 5 day FDP on Outcome based Education with Assessment and Evaluation was conducted on July 26 to July 30, 2021.
  • KTU Sponsored FDP on DSP & Applications was  conducted during 25 – 27 July 2019. Dr. P S Sathidevi (Dean, NIT Calicut), Dr. MuraliKrishna (Scientist, NPOL), Dr.Rajesh M.V (Professor & Head, ECE Dept, Model Engineering College, Cochin), Dr. Varun P Gopi (NIT Trichy). Dr. K R Joy (PG Coordinator, Sahrdaya) handled the sessions.
  • Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized a four days’ FDP on “Electronic Design Automation Tools” from 12th to 15th July, 2016. The inaugural ceremony was conducted on 12thJuly in the Accenture Lab (Bio-block) at 9.30 AM. It was Presided over by Rev. Dr. Joji Palamattath, Associate Executive Director, SCET. Ms. Malini Thomas, HOD,ECE gave the welcome speech and the inaugural address was given by Prof K.T Joseph, Director SCET. Dr. Joji Palamattath delivered the presidential address and Ms. Malini Thomas proposed the vote of thanks. FDP covered the all topics related to EDA lab in S3 EC syllabus of KTU (PSpice simulation, PCB manufacturing, MATLAB and VHDL).
  • An FDP was organized on the topic “Principles of DSP and its implementations” on 25th and 26th of July 2017.The objective of the FDP was to expose the faculty to Digital Signal Processing environment and enable them to handle Digital Signal Processing lab in the curriculum of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala ( KTU)
  • An FDP was organized on the topic “Principles of DSP and its implementations” on 25th and 26th of July 2017.   • Expert Talk on Latest Trends in Tech Industry by Christo P B (Alumni, 2021 Pass out) on 10/10/2022
  • Industry interaction was conducted on the topic “How to start a  project” By Manu Joseph, EIR Fellow, KSUM (Alumni 2016-20 batch) on 17/11/2021.
  • Alumni interaction on “What to look forward in an interview” by Ricahrd Joy (Alumni, 2016-20 batch), Software Developer, SOTI was held on 05/11/2021.
  • Alumni of 2017 pass out batch Mr. Manuel Johnson interacted ,Developer at TATA Elxi interacted with 2016 batch students on 17th  Jan 2020. Mr. Manuel secured a reward of 2000 US dollar from Facebook for finding out a security breach in Whatsapp. He was also included in 2018 Hall of Fame number 66.
  • Alumni of 2018 pass out batch  Ms. Megha Mohan working at CTS interacted with 2017 batch students on 2 nd  November 2019
  • Alumni of 2015 pass out batch Clinton Davis, Director, Solwatt Pvt. Limited interacted with S5 ECE students on 15th  October 2019.
  • Alumni of 2017 pass out batch Mr. Richu Davis interacted with the students on 30th  August 2019.
  • An alumni interaction was conducted for 2015 batch of students of ECE department on 12/8/2016 during 11-12pm. The alumni member Ms. Manju Gopinath (2008-2012 batch) addressed the students about how to utilize the opportunities provided in the college for building up a career in engineering field. She is currently working as a Support Engineering in IBS, Poland.
  • A talk on’ Re engineering of Mind for a Successful Career‘ was conducted on 03/03/2023 for S4 ECE(2021-2025), S6 ECE (2020-2024) and S8 ECE (2019-2023) students. The session was handled by Fr. Roy Joseph Vadakkan, Asst. Prof., Jyothi Engineering College, Thrissur
  • Session on Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking was conducted on 27-09-2022 by Mr. Dhanroop, TechbyHeart, Kochi on for 2021-25 batch
  • To equip the students for higher studies after their UG program, an orientation session on GATE-2023 was conducted on 27-06-2022 in association with ONES, Kochi.
  • Industrial Interaction on Career Opportunities in Business Intelligence by Ms. Anagha Valsakumar of Accenture was conducted on 01/04/2022

  • Faculty of ECE Department visited the Kerala Startup Mission Maker village and Fablab at Kochi on 25/3/2022 to learn about the latest fabrication technology in electronics industry.
  • A one day workshop on ‘Introduction to Robotic Operating Systems and Robotic Arms‘ was conducted for S8 ECE (2019-2023) students on 02/03/2023. Session was handled by Manu Joseph, Robotics engineer, Codet LLC Disrict coordinator ,KDISC
  • A session on ‘Indian Patent Filing Procedures’ was conducted on 22/02/2023 for S8 ECE (2019-2023) students. Session was handled by Dr. Silpa P A, Registered patent agent and Asst. Prof. ECE Dept, SCET
  • Workshop on “Python Programming” was conducted in association Star Innovations Pvt. Ltd on 13/10/2022 to 15/10/2022 (3 days) for 2021-25 batch students.
  • Google I/O Extended Thrissur” was conducted in association with Google Developer society, Google Educators and TCS on 25/6/2022 for registered students.
  • To nurture the research skills among students, a session on “How to do a Literature Review” was conducted on 21-06-2022 by Dr. Gnana King for 2019-23 batch students.
  • As part of the MoU between Sahrdaya and CDAC, a one day hands-on training on “VEGA Processors and Ecosystems-the first indigenous development board by CDAC” was held on 13-05-2022 for 2020-24 batch students and selected students from 2019-23 batch.
  • A hands-on training on Report making in Latex software was conducted by Dr. Silpa PA and Ms. Ambily Francis for 2019-23 batch students on 13/5/2022.
  • One day training for the technical staff of ECE,BME,CSE and EEE on Proteus software was conducted on 10/11/2021
  • 5 day workshop on Python programming for beginners by Hardware Club from 2/10/2021 to 6/10/2021
  • An in house internship on circuit design using modern tools and PCB assembly was organized for interested students on 18th and 19th of July 2017.
  • Three day workshop from 11/4/2023-13/4/2023 on Python programming handled by Star Innovations.
  • One day workshop on RTOS and Robotic arm on 2/3/2023 by Manu Joseph,  Robotic Engineer Codet , District coordinator , KDISC
  • A 5 day long workshop on Latest trends in Electronics and allied branches was conducted for first year students of K. Karunakaran Memorial Model Polytechnic College Mala, Kallettumkara from 9/5/2022 to 13/5/2022. Dr. Vishnu Rajan, Dr. Arun Thomas and Mr. Saran KB of Dept. ECE were handled various sessions on Android App development and Robotics.
  • Workshop on IoT and Arduino Programming was conducted by students in association with IEDC Hardware Club at Little Kites Matha H.S on 25/01/2020
  • An Internship program on basics of Robotics was organized by Hardware Club,in association with ELECSTA on 10 July 2019 .55 students of 2018 admissions from various branches and lab assistants attended the same.
  • On 27th and 28th Dec 2019 , a workshop on Mobile servicing and Robotics was conducted for plus 2 students from various schools by students of 2017 and 2016 batch.
