The project focused on converting a diesel-powered autorickshaw into an electric autorickshaw (e-rickshaw) as a step towards promoting sustainable transportation. This initiative was a collaborative effort by students and faculty under FRSG, combining technical expertise and teamwork to achieve a practical, eco-friendly solution.
The work involved replacing the diesel engine with an electric motor and a battery system while ensuring that the vehicle retained its original functionality and structural integrity. The team designed and installed a reliable battery pack and optimized the power delivery system to meet performance and safety standards. Modeling and simulation tools were used to evaluate the vehicle’s efficiency, range, and overall feasibility.
This project successfully demonstrated the potential of converting conventional vehicles into environmentally friendly alternatives. It provided valuable insights into the technical and practical aspects of such conversions, contributing to the broader adoption of green transportation solutions.
