This laboratory is to impart practical knowledge for both UG and PG students, of power electronic components and their applications. This laboratory is equipped with various modules for characteristic curve analysis of power electronic components (viz. diac, triac, thyristors and UJTs) and experimental setup of converters, inverters, choppers and speed control of dc motors. Power Electronics is very useful for Students to understand the concept of power electronics devices. Students can perform experiments like VI characteristics of the power electronic devices, single phase controlled rectifiers, DCDC choppers etc. This Lab is provided with a bread board for testing their own circuits. Power Electronics addresses the application of electronics to energy conversion and control. Topics covered include: characteristics of power semiconductor devices; modeling, analysis, and control techniques; design of power circuits including ac-ac regulator, inverters, rectifiers, and dc-dc converters; analysis and design of magnetic components and filters; interface between power electronics equipment and utility supply; and application to power supplies, motor drives, and green energy sources.

Systems & Simulation Lab in Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is well equipped with modern facilities for the under-graduate courses and research oriented studies. In under-graduate courses, students are divided into small groups so as to give them proper exposure. Laying a strong foundation for young engineers, the laboratory makes the students understand the fundamentals of Control systems. They are given a strong base in Microprocessor, Microcontroller, and MATLAB keeping the objective of lab in mind. The workshop includes familiarization of various equipment’s, tools and techniques used in electrical laboratory and practice of different basic wiring, lighting circuits. Students are benefited in such a way that they get an idea about household wiring and metering systems and various tools. They are also made aware of various safety precautions, electrical shocks and preventions.
Students get an idea of use of tools used by electricians, wiring regulations, types of cables and electric accessories including switches, plug, circuit breakers, fuses etc., symbols for electrical wiring schematics e.g. switches, lamps, sockets etc., drawing and practice in simple house wiring and testing methods, wiring schemed of two way and three way circuits, voltage, current, energy measurements etc .
Technical facilities in workshop include various types of wiring accessories, electrical tools, basic meters for voltage current and energy measurements. Wiring accessories for basic wirings like simple lighting circuit, staircase wiring, godown wiring, and fluorescent lamp are available.
