• Central Library (Knowledge Center)

  1. The library will remain open on all working days (Mon - Sat) from 7 am. To 7 pm and on Sundays & holidays from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
  2. Issue / return timing (Mon- Sat) from 8.00 am to 9.00 am and 12 noon to 2.00 pm, 4.00 pm to 6.30pm
  3. Personal belongings except purses and few sheets of white paper are not allowed beyond the issue counter. They shall be kept at the property counter. 
  4. Students shall maintain unbroken silence in the library. It is not the place for discussions, chatting, sleeping. Male and female students are not expected to sit together around the same table.
  5. Students are liable for punishment and fine if they misbehave or damage books or any other property of the library.
  6. Each student shall be provided Borrower’s Card for taking book from the library.
  7. Producing student’s identity card is a must for issuing Borrower’s Cards & Books.
  8. In case of loss of Borrower’s card, students must report immediately to the librarian who will issue a duplicate card on payment of Rs. 25/-
  9. Books shall be issued to students for a fortnight. If the books are not returned on or before due dates, students have to pay an overdue charge. After the due date fine as shown below will be collected:

Upto 15 days after due date              : Rs. 10
From 16th to 30th day                      : Rs. 20
From 31st to 45th day                        : Rs. 30
Beyond 45 days                               Rs. 5 per day to be added to Rs. 30 up to the date of        returning the books including holidays

    • In case any book is lost or damaged by the student, the student shall replace it with a new book or shall pay the cost of replacement plus Rs. 50.00. If a book is one of the volumes of a set, the student may be asked to replace the whole set.
    • On receiving books from the library, students must examine them and report any damage found in them immediately to the librarian. If students fail to do so he/ she will be held responsible for the damage found on returning the book.
    • No book will be re-issued except when presented physically.
    • The books may be renewed 2 times if there is no request from others for that book.
    • Reference books and periodicals issued to students cannot be taken outside the library premises and should be retuned when the student leaves the library. 
    • If students fail to pay library dues at the right time, the privilege of borrowing books will be suspended till the payment is made in full. 
    • Students are not expected to disturb the seating arrangement in the library in any way. 
    • They should also not switch on the light/ fans unnecessarily
    • Library will not be responsible for the loss of students’ belongings from the property counter.
    • Students are not supposed to keep books unnecessarily on the table.
    • Students are expected to make use of the Digital Entry-Exit devices installed at the entrance of the library before entering the library and at the time of leaving it.

Book Bank Scheme

  • Students can purchase books through Book Centre (Library) on discount. The consolidated list of each branch is to be submitted to the library through the Class Representative before the third week of that particular semester. The list must contain the name and SR. Number of the students, title and author of the book and the signature of the students. Students can buy any number of books under this scheme.


  • There is a Book Bank scheme in which students can get a maximum of three books on paying 25% of the cost. The books procure under the Scheme have to be returned on the last day of the examination on the concerned semester in good condition. If they fail to return the books on that date, they have to pay a fine of Rs. 2.00 per day per book. They can renew this to the even semester (From III Semester to IV Semester, and from V semester to VI Semester) by paying only 15% of the cost of the books. For such purchases, the consolidated list of each branch should reach the library through the class representative before the third week of that particular semester. Name and SR. No. of the students. Title of the books, author, and the signature of the students must be available in the list.


  • Under both schemes students opted for books must collect the same from the library compulsorily, if made available. If the students fail to make the purchase they are liable to pay fine.
        • No- Due certificate

    • All library dues should be cleared and a No-Due Certificate (NDC) obtained to this effect  before registering for the examination of that particular semester
        • Overnight Issue

  • Students can take reference books through overnight scheme (Issue Time – 5.00 pm to 6.30 pm only from Monday to Friday, except Friday prior to second Saturday.


    •  These books should be returned before 8.30 am on the following working day. Only one book will be issued to one student. They have to submit their ID Card for such issue. Books costing more than Rs. 1,500 will not be issued under this scheme. Students have to check books before it is taken out. While returning, if found damaged, the book has to be replaced with a new book with a fine of Rs. 50.00. Students who fail to return books on the due date also have to pay a fine of Rs. 10 per hour per book up to one week and after that 1.5 times the price of the book, whichever will come more. 
        • Photocopying

  • Photocopying from reference books, not exceeding ten pages, is permitted. Book issued for photocopying must be returned without any damage within the specified time. Failure to do so will lead to a fine of Rs. 10 per book per hour.

        • Digital library

Students have to strictly follow the following guidelines:

  • Use internet only for academic purpose and correspondence.
  • Playing music and games, watching movies etc will not be allowed.
  • Maintain strict silence. It is no place for discussion.
  • One system for one student. Stay in your allotted seats.
  • System will be provided according on the basis of availability (First come first served). Advance Booking is also possible.
  • If there is a queue of waiting students, they cannot use internet for more than half an hour.
  • Don’t manipulate system settings and experiment with TRS programs or viruses.
Students are liable for any damage caused while using the system
The Librarian shall have the power to refuse the issue of a book to any student or he may recall any book without assigning any reason therefore. If students have any complaint about the services provided by the Library, instead of arguing with the library staff they may bring it to the notice of the Librarian
