The day started off by dedication the event to God followed by prayer song by the Nightingales of BT. The chief guest Dr. S. Shankar, Senior Scientist, Kerala forest research Institute, Executive Director Rev. Fr. Varghese Pathadan, The Principal K.T Joseph and the staff in charge of BT Mr. Doles were welcomed with flowers to the platform. After this was the welcome speech by the association secretary Mr. Vipin Soman. The comparer of the day Hera Joy Kacharakkal invited the chief guest to deliver the speech. The guests and the animators of the class officially inaugurated the association. The comparer invited the chief guest to address the gathering. The enlightening and inspiring speech by the chief guest left the audience spell bound. The Executive Director gave the presidential address, after which the faculty members offered felicitations to BEATS. The birth of BEATS was celebrated with the cutting and the distribution f the cake. Our class leader and chairperson of the college Miss. Deepthi Jojo gave vote of thanks. Color was added to the event by the lively animation and presentation symbolizing the "soul of BEATS". The colorful and innovative display of the posters by different groups of BT attracted both faculty and students alike. The event was concluded with the seminar presented by Dr. S. Shankar on "Bamboo".
BEATS emphasizes on the importance of integrating new knowledge gained through basic research and development programs.

Trendz 2017 was conducted well in association with Department of CSE,ECE and EEE on 16th and 17th of June.
On February 20th 2016 Dr.Ullas Mony.Asst profssor, Amrita University gave a technical talk on Research oppurtunities in Nanoscience & Molecular medicine.S6 and S8 students attended the session.
Professors from TERRI university, Delhi visited and interacted with the students on March 2nd 2016.
The annual technical fest Palmarius was conducted on 5th and 6th October 2015 with various technical events like Streax, Indriya, Popout model, Maze hustle and Forensics. There were lots of external participants also for the events.
From 17th August 2015 to 21st August 2015 a funded workshop on Downstream processing and fermentation technology was organized in the department with 24 external participants.Dr. Hariharan Nellaiah, BIOZEEN gave the inaugural address on the topic Downstream Processing in the Purification of Biologics. Ms. Priya Josson , BIOZEEN gave a session on Production of Biologics and Biosimilars – Challenges.A Memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed with Biozeen, Bangalore during the workshop.
BIOVISION 2013 was inaugurated by Dr. Renjan S Karippai, The Professor & ¬Head, Krishi Vinjana Kendra, Kerala Agriculture University, Mannuthy. The Keynote address was given by him on the topic “Biotechnology: On an outsider’s view”. ¬Dr. Suma T.B, Scientist, Department of biotechnology, KFRI, Peechi, delivered a talk on “DNA Bar coding” . Dr. Augustine Antony, Former Professor & Head, Department of Plant Biotechnology, Center for Plant Biotechnology & ¬Molecular Biology and Associate Director of research, Kerala Agriculture University, Mannuthy, delivered a talk on “Effective Utilization Of Cashew In Kerala”. ¬Dr. Gireesh, Scientist, Rubber Research Institute, Kottayam delivered an informative talk on “Hevea crop Improvement: Conventional v/s Biotechnology”. The Paper Presentation and Poster Presentation competitions were conducted and cash awards were given to the winners.

Free medical check-up for which618 people registered, Seminars, workshop on Mushroom cultivation and an exhibition on prospectus and aspects of BT. A class was conducted to house wifes on "Diary Technology and Production and Value addition of Milk". The association also coducted 6 lectures under its auspices during this period.

On 20th July 2015 Dr.Prathima Radhakrishnan, Director Foetal medicine Bangalore addressed the Biotechnology Engineering students on the topic ‘Innovations in foetal medicine and early diagnosis of foetal disorders’.
On 22nd July 2015 BEATS association in collaboration with the KCSTE organized a technical talk in connection with the World Technology day celebrations. The theme was Innovations in health care. Dr.Jeejan Gangadharan from Santhi hospital gave the talk on various innovative technologies that has been emerged in the medical field for treatment and disease diagnosis.
On 27th July 2015, Mr. Alex P. George, MD, Alco industries delivered a motivational talk on ‘How to be an effective entrepreneur’. All the B.Tech Biotechnology students attended the session. As a part of motivating the entrepreneur skills in the students the first product ‘Aarika ‘soap was released on that day.

1.A student project from Department Of Biotechnology secured first prize worth Rs.One lakh(Rs.1,00,000), in Techtop Competition which was conducted on July 18th - 20th at Technopark Trivandrum.The project was guided by MrsMegha P.M, Asst Professor (BT Deaprtment).The group consist of Ms.NikithaBalakrishnan, Ms.Chaithra K.V, Ms.Anju P.Anto, Ms.Mary Rose and Ms.Neethu Varghese.
2. A student project from Department Of Biotechnology the Best Project by Women award worth Rs. Twenty thousand(Rs.20,000), in Techtop Competition which was conducted on July 18th - 20th at Techno park Trivandrum. The project was guided by Mrs. Megha P.M, Asst Professor (BT Department).The group consist of Ms. Nikitha Balakrishnan, Ms. Chaithra K.V, Ms.Anju P.Anto, Ms. Mary Rose and Ms. Neethu Varghese.

The project group consisting of Mr. Seby Antony, Ms Sangeetha Gopal, Ms Mariya Thomas and Ms Celine Thomas, guided by Rahna K Rathnan, won the Second Prize of Rs 30000 for the project “An Effective Approach of Bioelectricity Production From Lignocellulosic Waste” - in the KSCSTE – TECH FEST conducted as part of NATCON 2013 from 16th - 18th January 2013 at Kottayam.
4.The project group consisting of Mr. Rothish Ramesh , Mr. Arjun S Kumar, Ms Gopika Kartha and Neenu Tom won Prof. Satheesh John Memorial Award consisting of prize money of Rs.60000/- for the best project in environment friendly technology category for the project “Electricity from Urine” , in YUVA Master Mind Competition by Malayala Manorama Daily in February 2013 project “Electricity from Urine held at Amal Jyothi Engineering College, Kanjirappalli. The project was guided by Mrs. Megha P.M, Asst Professor.
